What causes Pressure in gases and how this can be useful?

Read these pages. Copy the diagrams of the cube containing gas particles and the balloon diagrams showing pressure. Under diagrams A, B and C describe what is happening. The explanations are in the txt on the left of the diagrams.

As yesterday, read through your textbook and anwer the questions. Have a go at the worksheets. There is even some practical work you can do! You can all do the practical on Gd2, and if Mum has some kitchen scales you can have a go at Gd3 too.

Read these pages and answer the textbook questions.

New Topic 7G: The particle theory of solids, liquids and gases
Substances can be one of three states of matter: Solid, liquid or gas.

How do we tell if a substance is a solid a liquid, or a gas? What properties do all solids have? What properties do all liquids have? What properties do all gases have?

Can you make a list of examples of solids, liquids and gases? Are there any substances that are difficult to classify? Are there somethings that are a mixture of states?
